Lead expert in strategic planning and agricultural development

REID Consulting is seeking a Lead expert in strategic planning and agricultural development to support a process of analysis, consultation and territorial planning aimed at strengthening the performance of the agricultural sector and the development of territories.

Duties & responsibilities

Coordinate the technical work
Facilitate participatory processes with stakeholders
Guide the strategic analyses
Contribute to drafting planning documents that address agricultural and territorial development priorities

Required profile

University degree, at least a master's level (Bac+5), in planning, rural development, agricultural economics or a related field
At least 15 years of professional experience in strategic planning, territorial development or the management of agricultural development programmes
Successfully conducted at least 3 similar assignments drafting or updating strategic plans, territorial development plans or sectoral planning documents, including at least 2 in the agricultural sector
Leadership, excellent writing skills, analytical and synthesis skills
Ability to work with public, private and community actors

Key skills

Command of strategic and territorial planning approachesExcellent knowledge of participatory methods involving local actorsInstitutional, economic and organisational analysis skillsCommand of results-based management (RBM) toolsVery good knowledge of agricultural policies, institutional arrangements and rural development issues in Benin
