The programme for Support to Local Governance and Territorial Attractiveness (AGORA), funded by the Swiss Cooperation and implemented by the Particip-REID Consulting consortium as operator, held in N'Dali on 25 and 26 March 2026 the first 2026 session of its interdepartmental technical committee. Decentralised state services, local authorities and partners from the four departments of northern Benin reviewed planning tools, local financial management and inclusive development.
Officially launched on 23 February 2023 after the protocol between Benin and the Swiss Confederation was signed on 21 December 2022, AGORA supports 27 communes in the departments of Borgou, Alibori, Atacora and Donga, with over 7 billion CFA francs for its pilot phase. This first phase has been extended to December 2026.
